Transforming Business Spaces with Custom Wall Wraps

May 18, 2025 by greg Leave a Comment

The Power of Wall Wraps

Wall wraps are large-scale vinyl graphics that can be applied to almost any smooth surface, transforming blank walls into eye-catching visuals. Whether it’s an office, retail space, restaurant, or corporate headquarters, a well-designed wall wrap makes a lasting impression on employees, clients, and visitors alike.

Here are a few reasons why companies are investing in wall wraps:

1. Brand Reinforcement

Your business space should reflect your brand. A wall wrap featuring your company’s logo, mission statement, or core values ensures that everyone who enters your space understands your brand identity. Consistency in branding builds trust and recognition, making your business stand out.

2. Professionalism & Aesthetic Appeal

Blank walls can feel uninspiring, but a custom wall wrap transforms an ordinary space into something dynamic and engaging. High-quality graphics create a professional, polished environment that enhances the overall ambiance of your workspace.

3. Cost-Effective Marketing

Traditional signage and décor can be expensive and difficult to update. Wall wraps, on the other hand, offer a long-lasting yet changeable solution. When it’s time for a refresh, replacing or modifying a vinyl wrap is far easier than repainting or installing new fixtures.

4. Employee Engagement & Morale

A vibrant workspace can have a direct impact on employee motivation and productivity. Inspirational quotes, company achievements, or creative designs can energize teams and create a positive work environment.

5. Wayfinding & Informational Signage

For larger office spaces, wall wraps can serve a functional purpose beyond aesthetics. Directional signage, department labels, or safety instructions incorporated into wall wraps help improve navigation and efficiency within a business environment.

Industries Benefiting from Wall Wraps

Nearly any industry can benefit from custom wall wraps. Some common sectors that use them include:

  • Corporate Offices – Enhance conference rooms, break areas, and lobby spaces with branded visuals.
  • Retail Stores – Create immersive shopping experiences and promote key products.
  • Healthcare Facilities – Provide calming, welcoming environments for patients.
  • Restaurants & Cafés – Display unique murals and branding to set the mood.
  • Manufacturing & Warehousing – Reinforce safety messages and operational guidelines.

Why Choose a Professional Signs & Graphics Company?

While DIY wall wraps may seem like an option, professional installation ensures flawless results. A reputable signs and graphics company provides:

✅ Custom Design Services – Tailored graphics that align with your brand.
✅ High-Quality Materials – Durable, long-lasting vinyl with vibrant printing.
✅ Expert Installation – Bubble-free application for a professional finish.
✅ Ongoing Support – Assistance with updates and replacements as needed.

Elevate Your Business Space Today

If your business is looking for a creative way to transform its space, custom wall wraps are an excellent investment. They not only enhance branding and aesthetics but also offer practical and motivational benefits for employees and visitors alike.

Innovative Magnetic Roster Boards Enhance Student-Athlete Recognition at Pace Academy

October 16, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

From hearing the cheers of the crowds to finding friendships born out of teamwork and shared goals, there’s nothing quite like being on a school sports team. Athletics programs instill values in students of all ages and introduce an avenue to create meaningful friendships.

When you think of sports, you may think of long practices, exciting moments at the buzzer, booster clubs, and bus rides — but when we think of sports, we think of signage solutions that bring a team roster to life.

The Client

Pace Academy is a large private school in Atlanta, home to 1,150 students in elementary through high school. Their athletics programs are robust, with 90% of middle school students and 80% of high school students participating in one of 21 sports in some capacity.

The Pace Academy motto, “to have the courage to strive for excellence,” helps today’s students become leaders of tomorrow in every way – and that includes their participation in athletics. Many Pace students have gone on to receive athletic scholarships at the collegiate level, but every Pace student who joins a team learns the values of teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and resilience.

Being part of a team is a source of pride for many students, and Pace Academy offers both cut and no-cut teams to allow as many students as possible to enjoy sports as part of their education. The school honors members of their sporting teams by displaying rosters in the school gymnasium and swimming facility.

The Problem

Pace Academy wanted to continue the tradition of updating each team’s roster annually. However, their current display system had become dated, making it difficult to update. Additionally, displaying new names each year incurred rising costs.

The school knew they needed a cleaner and more economical solution for their roster displays that could be changed easily year after year. They called Optima Signs & Graphics to brainstorm a creative solution for their gymnasium that would last through hundreds of student-athletes in the future.

The Solution

Thankfully, the owner of Optima Signs &Graphics had a great solution in mind: a magnetic frame system from Switch It. These systems offer “an easy way to transform spaces,” so Optima presented multiple mock-ups to the athletics department at Pace. After a few design tweaks on their preferred selection, they decided it would be a perfect addition to their gymnasium rosters.

Optima then created custom roster boards for Pace, ranging in size from 66″x96″ to 78″x144″. Each 18″x18″ Switch It frame is made of a magnetic material, so they were tiled together to form large roster boards in custom sizes to fit the designated spaces.

Once the Switch It systems were in place, Optima printed a base grid layer on a premium magnetic receptive material designed to hold each name on a team’s roster. The base grid can be easily removed and replaced to make changes in the overall roster look, and individual name strips are printed on the same material and are applied over the base grid layer. This makes each magnetic display change cost-effective and hassle-free!

Pace Academy liked the look and ease of use of their new boards so much that they called again, asking Optima to craft a similar solution in the swimming facility. Instead of Switch It Frames, this facility was more suited for an adhesive-backed magnetic base attached to 60″x120′ aluminum composite panels.

Optima secured them to the cinder block walls with french cleats, then printed base grid layers and the name strips on the same premium magnetic receptive material used in the gymnasium.

The Results

From initial discussion to final installation, these projects were completed in about six months each. The gym roster boards were updated in the summer of 2023, followed by the swimming facility roster boards in 2024.

Today, Pace Academy can enjoy simple updates to their team rosters year after year. This allows students to see their names on the facilities’ walls where they practice and play, instilling pride and inspiring a sense of camaraderie between teammates.

When students look up to discover their own names displayed so prominently, it gives them “the courage to strive for excellence” that Pace Academy seeks to offer every student.

Pace Academy experienced an updated look, an easier process, and a cost-effective solution to its roster needs! If you’re looking for a signage refresh, we’d love to do the same for you.

4 Tips When Ordering Custom Signs

September 18, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

You may not think about signs and graphics too often, but you definitely notice their effects. Great signage captures your attention, provides practical information, and enhances your experience with a brand. The right sign choices can help a business grow.

Just think about it: have you ever stopped in a retail store or a restaurant because you were drawn in by a sign? We’ve all witnessed the power of branding in this way. So when it comes to your own brand, don’t neglect the impact of high-quality signs — and don’t forget that the most practical signs can sometimes have the most impact.

For example, custom wet floor signs have the unique ability to improve your building’s safety while showcasing your brand, while dimensional letters have the unique ability to bring your brand to life for anyone who steps into your storefront. If you’re considering an order of customized signs, these tips will help you end up with an order you love.

Do These 4 Things When Ordering Branded Signage

1. Find a Local Partner You Can Trust

To secure the best possible signage for your business, partner with a local sign company you can trust. Partnering with a local sign shop instead of an online retailer provides creative and relational advantages.

Local sign experts love brainstorming with clients, discovering the perfect solution for every signage need. Custom projects allow you to work together to find a solution that highlights your brand while prioritizing messaging and visuals that work best for your audience. When you shop locally, you also benefit from an ongoing partnership, which often means better customer service and faster turnaround times.

How can you find this kind of partnership? Ask other local businesses whose signage you like! Local reviews and recommendations go a long way in discovering sign shops with experience and expertise. When you find a potential partner, ask them about their experience with similar projects. This ensures you’ll find a good fit for the job.

2. Send High-Quality Brand Files

Custom signage offers many benefits for your brand, but poor—quality images can negate those. Sending artwork should always be the first step in the signage process. This allows your sign shop to determine the best sign size and style for your brand. They may also recommend specific color palettes or fonts that work well on custom safety signs.

When sending your branding to a local sign partner, ensure you’re sharing vector files, not bitmap files. Choosing and sending the right files can expedite the process and improve the quality of your finished project.

3. Select Styles and Order Quantity

Many business owners mistakenly believe custom signage is too expensive to be worth the purchase. Your local sign shop likely works with various styles and materials to accommodate any budget. Let them know how many signs you’d like and share your budget range. They’ll work to find the right fit for both your brand and your budget!

Once you’ve sent artwork and shared your budget, your sign partner will send mockups for your review. Together, you can edit the initial design until you get the professional custom signs you want.

4. Reorder Periodically

Even the best quality signs need replacing after years of wear and tear. Don’t forget to reorder from your sign shop periodically to keep your custom signs looking sharp. Bundle projects to expedite the process, and ask your local sign expert if they have any signage recommendations to help your business draw in even more customers!

How Signage Plays Into Your Business Marketing Strategy

August 14, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

The world of marketing seems to be evolving faster than ever. Advances in technology have created new ways of digital marketing, there’s a renewed emphasis on customer experience, and data collection has transformed companies’ abilities to find and speak to their ideal customers.

These new technologies can be helpful tools in your marketing strategy. But it’s important to remember that in a sea of digital marketing opportunities, the tried-and-true physical branding is still one of the best ways to reach customers.

Well-crafted signage, from a large exterior installation to a small branded decal or sticker, provides your audience with a tangible visual. This is incredibly beneficial to your overall marketing strategy, here’s why:

4 Ways Signage Can Benefit Your Marketing Strategy

Partnering with a local sign shop in Georgia to make high-quality, well-branded signs pays off in many ways.

Employ Passive Marketing

Most advertising tools like radio advertisements, billboards, and social media ads require ongoing payments and frequent retargeting to reach the right clients and generate business. But well-made signs can serve as a worthwhile investment for years to come.

Both interior and exterior signs will require an upfront investment. But once they’re in place, you’ll incur virtually zero additional costs for their entire lifespan. If you’re looking for a cost-effective marketing strategy that will work around the clock, invest in good signage.

Boost Brand Awareness

Have you ever looked for the perfect pit stop on a road trip? You’re probably on the lookout for a delicious meal, a fast and hassle-free experience, and clean restrooms. To meet these criteria, you’ll probably stop at a gas station or fast food restaurant you’re already familiar with. That’s brand awareness at its best — and creating quality signs can help you boost awareness for your business.

To build brand awareness, you need to practice brand consistency. This means you should use your brand colors, typefaces, and logos in all aspects of your marketing.

Think of signage as a way to help your brand jump off the page and into an audience member’s memory. When potential customers see your brand repeatedly, they’ll start to remember it — which makes them much more likely to contact you when they need what you have to offer.

Communicate Concisely

The marketing landscape is crowded, with consumers viewing hundreds of ads per day. To catch their attention, your message should capture them quickly. Promotional signage is a popular choice in marketing strategies, but other signs can serve your brand well and build customer loyalty.

  • Exterior directional signage and interior floor graphics can lead consumers to your business, provide guidance in confusing corridors, and quickly alert them when they’ve found the right spot. Remember, you can’t land a sale if the customer can’t locate you!
  • Custom safety signs can benefit your brand while helping passersby avoid injury or danger.
  • Transportable banners allow you to provide valuable information at pop-up shops, trade shows, or events.

No matter what type of signage you choose, professionally made signs from Optima Signs & Graphics can give you the edge in a crowded marketplace.. You can get to the heart of the matter without mincing words, giving your customers the information they need, from sale prices to wet floor hazards.

Encourage Impulse Buys

Did you know signage can draw new customers into your storefront even if they’ve never seen your brand before? A survey conducted by FedEx found that more than 75% of consumers would visit a shop for the first time if they found the signage compelling.

If your business offers a deal to first-time customers, design a sign to let them know! A-frame signs and vinyl banners can encourage spur-of-the-moment shopping by promoting sales, pop-up events, and limited-time offers.

How Signage Draws In New and Repeat Customers

Digital marketing may be evolving quickly, but physical signage also offers more creative solutions than ever before. Standard aluminum signage is still a staple in exterior installations, but today companies are getting creative with their physical marketing.

From backlit lettering that catches the eye to vehicle wraps that serve as mobile marketing, there are endless ways to get your brand into the world today. These innovative ideas are well-suited for introducing your company to new audiences and driving traffic and sales upward.

You can also use signage to entice repeat customers to return. Use physical signs to share about new products, highlight an updated brand, or remind one-time customers of your service offerings. Good signage will put you back at the top of their list!

Custom Signs Worthy of Your Business and Brand

If you want to attract new customers and woo repeat business, look no further than Optima Signs & Graphics. We’ve been helping Atlanta-area businesses create standout professional signs since 1988.
We’re committed to helping you design top-quality signs within your timeline and budget. Bring us your creative ideas or let us dream up a signage solution your customers will love! To get started, call us or begin your project online today.

Case Study: The View at Chastain

July 24, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

The Client

2005 welcomed The View at Chastain condominiums to the Buckhead district in Atlanta. This 125-unit luxury building sits in the heart of the East Chastain neighborhood, steps from stunning Chastain Park.

Residents of The View at Chastain can enjoy the numerous amenities of the park, which include a swimming pool, walking trails, a golf course, a horse park, an arts center, and an amphitheater, among many more perks. Buckhead is also home to some of Atlanta’s best shopping, dining, and entertainment — so residing at The View at Chastain is an attractive offer, indeed.

The Homeowner’s Association of this 10-story high-rise wanted to remodel the building to reflect current design trends and adopt a sleek aesthetic, so they hired a top interior designer to remodel the common areas on each floor. In keeping with the new look, the property manager updated all signage in the building.

The Problem

As The View at Chastain underwent a facelift, they knew they needed to update signage throughout the building to complement their new design. Updated paint, carpeting, and wall coverings provided an opportunity for sleek new signage. However, they knew they would need a trusted partner to help them select the right materials and designs for this expansive project — over 300 signs.

The property manager for The View at Chastain had worked with Optima Signs & Graphics in the past, and he knew they’d be well-equipped for a job of this scope and size. He reached out to set up a collaborative on-site meeting between Optima, building management, and the interior designer. From there, creative ideas for condominium signs started to flow.

The Solution

The Optima Signs team walked the property to determine the types of signs needed and confirm a location for each, while also seeing the design changes in the building itself. Next, they suggested signage solutions that featured color combinations and long-lasting materials that complimented the new decor.

After confirming the client’s style and color choices, Optima created mockups for each type of sign, following ADA guidelines for signs while staying true to The View at Chastain’s branding. To ensure that the interior design team and property manager would love the final product, they provided color samples from the sign fabricator to give the entire team a sneak peek at the actual product.

With a complete proposal in hand, the property manager presented the estimate and designs to the HOA. They loved the initial proposal and asked for even more signage solutions from Optima. Finally, after those additions, it was time to begin sign creation.

Optima’s carefully executed process includes:

  • An initial design proposal and estimate
  • Revisions, if needed
  • Production proofs for client approval
  • Sign creation
  • Sign installation

Normally, this type of sign project can take anywhere from three months to a year. In working with a local sign expert, the team at The View at Chastain was able to take the needed time to work through sign additions and revisions, ensuring their satisfaction with the final installation.

The Results

In June of 2024, the Optima Signs & Graphics team installed over 300 signs at The View at Chastain. Each sign is multilayered, with a brushed aluminum laminate base that catches the eye with its subtle sheen. The top layer features a China Blue shade that complements the interior design updates. Copy for each sign offers bright white tactile lettering and clear braille beads.

They installed hundreds of new signs across all 10 floors of the building, including:

  • Individual unit numbers
  • Emergency evacuation plans
  • Stairwell signs
  • Other miscellaneous directional and informational signs

Each of these new signage solutions captures the attention of residents and guests alike, providing essential information while staying in line with the cool-toned, calming design selections. This project is proof that design details matter — the overall appeal of the hallways and common areas was greatly improved through the collaboration of interior designers and signage professionals.

Your Turn

3 Situations When Custom Wet Floor Signs Improve Your Building’s Safety

June 12, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

When you think of signs, you might associate them with the creative department. Logos and branding are key pieces of any business’s visual appeal, but signs can do more than provide an image boost.

They serve many practical purposes that enhance your client experience. Signs can provide clear directions, alert prospective customers about sale prices, and even keep them safe from potential hazards.

How Custom Wet Floor Signs Improve Safety

Spills happen. To keep people safe from slips and falls, you need to communicate well. Custom safety signs can help you do it! Custom wet floor signs can:

  • Provide essential safety information quickly
  • Communicate effectively even when no one is around
  • Reduce potential harm and liability

It’s important to use wet floor signs consistently. Whether an accidental spill occurs or you’re just mopping the floors, put a wet floor sign in place. Even if no one is in the vicinity when the floor is wet, putting a safety sign in place will ensure that anyone who enters the building takes proper precautions.

Don’t forget to put the sign away after the floor is dry! Using signs every time and putting them away on time will help passersby pay attention to them, preventing slip and fall accidents.

5 Things to Consider When Using Custom Wet Floor Signs

While generic safety signs are available, custom wet floor signs can communicate even more effectively. If you’re looking for custom safety signs for your business, consider these five factors to create a design that works for you.

1.) Colors

Custom wet floor signs allow you to communicate practical information while staying consistent with your branding. However, it’s important to remember that safety signs should be clearly visible. Choose colors that catch the eye and draw attention to the potential hazard at hand.

Yellow and black is the standard color combination for “caution,” but you can use another color combination as long as it provides high contrast and visibility.

2.) Graphics and Images

They say a picture is worth a thousand words — but in this case, a simple icon will do the trick. As people walk through a building, they need a safety sign that communicates quickly. Using an icon like the cautionary exclamation or a simple graphic that shows a stick figure falling can tell people to “watch out!” before they ever read a word.

If you don’t want to use the standard icons or imagery, come up with another eye-catching visual to tell those walking past that slippery ground is ahead.

3.) Text

Once colors and visuals catch someone’s eye, it’s time to tell them what’s happening! Use clear and concise language to communicate the potential hazard and keep employees and customers safe.

While it’s important to communicate in short phrases that are easy to read, you don’t have to say, “Caution! Wet Floor!”. In fact, messaging research has shown that people are more likely to pay attention to a unique sign than a standard one. Come up with a wet floor pun that matches the tone of your brand, and you’ll have a winning safety sign.

4.) Location

Once you’ve partnered with a local sign shop to bring your custom safety sign to life, consider where to place it when it’s in use — and when it’s not! Accidental spills can happen in a blink. It’s important for you (and your employees) to know where safety signs are stored so that you can get them in place quickly.

Keep your safety signage in the same place at all times when not in use. You may want to consider storing your signs in the same supply closet with cleaning supplies, so you’ll be able to use them when you’re doing your regular mopping, too.

5.) Sign Type

Last, but certainly not least, it’s important to choose the right type of safety sign for your business. Portable A-frame signs are the most popular choice for wet floor alerts and other common hazards. You may also want to print custom safety information onto plastic cones or retractable banners.

Talk to your local sign expert about which type of sign best suits your safety needs.

Your Partner in Custom Safety Signs

Safety information is crucial, no matter what line of work or type of building you’re in. At Optima Signs & Graphics, we can help you find the perfect solution for wet floor signs and other safety needs, blending practical information with quality branding.

Custom Wet Floor Signs: 4 Benefits To Your Brand

May 15, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

When you think of a brand, you probably think of visual appeal and unique design elements that help your company stand out in a crowded marketing world.

You probably don’t think about wet floor signs.

But did you know that this utilitarian safety product can become part of your branding? Safety signs don’t have to be generic. In fact, they can serve the important purpose of alerting customers to wet floors or other common safety issues while still maintaining brand consistency in your office or retail space.

Although there are generic options on the market today, custom safety signage — even though it exists to meet a practical need — can help you maintain a consistent, high-quality brand.

4 Ways Custom Signage Benefits Your Brand

1.) It cements your brand image.

Most businesses are already aware of the importance of brand consistency. Using the right typefaces, color palettes, and logo elements across your entire brand helps potential customers recognize your brand. It also demonstrates your professionalism and attention to detail, which establishes trust in your brand.

But perhaps you’ve never considered safety and directional signs as a part of your brand. It’s common to overlook this piece of the puzzle — but choosing to print custom wet floor signs and safety signs is just one more way to be consistent in your branding.

    2.) It provides passive marketing.

Depending on the location of your wet floor and safety signs, you might be able to market your brand to new audiences with the simple use of practical signage. It’s always beneficial to promote your brand to potential clients without dipping into marketing and advertising budgets.

This example from a recent project shows the combination of practical information and quality branding. Travelers at the Los Angeles Airport are reminded to watch their step, keeping them safe — but they’re also reminded that there’s a nearby Marriott to stay in on future trips.

3.) It can be customized to fit your needs.

If you have a specific message to convey, generic safety and directional signs won’t fit the bill. On the other hand, custom signs can incorporate your brand and provide tailored messaging that tells your audience exactly what you need them to know. You can even write the copy in your brand voice so that the entire custom project looks and sounds like you.

The signs we printed for LUMA Hotel in San Francisco show the beauty of a practical sign created by an outstanding brand.

4.) It blends practicality with aesthetic appeal.

Safety signs can be eye-catching in all the wrong ways sometimes. If you’ve found generic wet floor signs to clash with your brand colors or style, custom sign solutions can blend beautifully in your space without sacrificing safety.

You can design a wet floor sign or other safety sign that catches viewers’ attention without block letters or bright yellow cones. Just take a look at this design — the blue background and the cautionary logo warn those walking by about the wet floor. And of course, these colors and typefaces fit perfectly into our client’s brand.

Custom Signs in Atlanta and Beyond

If you’re ready to invest in signs that merge practical needs with quality branding, Optima Signs & Graphics is here to help. From practical needs like wet floor signs and directionals to custom exterior signage projects and banners of all sizes, we have the sign solutions you need.

          Case Study: Rainwater Construction

April 23, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

          The Client

Since 1956, Rainwater Construction has established themselves as a top-quality commercial construction company in Georgia. They aim to exceed expectations in quality, safety, and value in their commercial construction projects and Division 13 pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) erector services alike.

Rainwater offers turnkey commercial construction, leads warehouse and distribution projects using the Butler LogistX® Building System and Truss Perlin XT™, and provides roof maintenance and re-roofing for commercial buildings. With over 2,700 projects completed and a 90% repeat business rate, Rainwater has become a highly respected brand across Atlanta and far beyond.

In 2021, Rainwater welcomed a new president and vice president—a husband and wife team who wanted to continue the storied success of the company, honoring their commitment to quality work and fair prices.

          The Problem

As Rainwater Construction entered a new era of business, they knew it was time for a new office space. A new building provides a blank slate for creative branding solutions, but they knew it would be a big job to capture their vision for signs and graphics in multiple spots on the premises. Since this new location was situated at an intersection on popular Roswell Road, the company wanted to highlight their brand and their space to passing drivers, drawing in new clientele.

Optima Signs & Graphics has been a longtime trusted Rainwater partner. After working on smaller projects over the years, they reached out to collaborate on several unique signage solutions for their brand-new space in Atlanta.

          The Solution

Rainwater came to Optima Signs & Graphics with creative ideas for four distinct areas in their new office space.

          • One area of their new office featured a large glass exterior wall, providing traffic on popular Roswell Road with a clear view into the facility. Rainwater wanted to design a halo-lit logo to capture the attention of passersby.
          • In an interior space, Rainwater wanted to honor the successful history of the company by showcasing a large map marked with prominent jobs completed in Atlanta and the surrounding areas. They wanted a permanent installation, but wanted Optima to consider ways of adding future projects to the map without frequent reprints and installations.
          • Rainwater also wanted a clean and simple sign on the wall of its new lobby area that featured its branding.
          • Lastly, they needed new graphics for the entryway doors, featuring the company name along with contact information and hours of operation.

With these ideas in mind, Optima got to work designing mockups for each sign project.

Initially, Rainwater had considered a halo lighting effect for their entire logo. However, because this effect required running wiring behind each individual letter, this option became very complex and cost-prohibitive.

Instead, Optima suggested a halo-lit “R” as the focal point of their logo, flanked by white dimensional acrylic lettering. With a blue wall as the background, this would still provide great visibility for street traffic on Roswell Road.

As Optima designed the map, they crafted a unique solution that allowed versatility for this permanent installation. They used adhesive-backed vinyl for the existing map, creating an oversized installation with plenty of room to highlight completed jobs. This vinyl piece was laminated for easy cleaning over the years to come. Next, they created vinyl decals to add to the map as new jobs were finished — a much more cost-effective solution for an ever-evolving design.

Optima selected white-cut vinyl lettering for the walls and doors of the entryway and interior lobby wall. This economical option provided a professional look while keeping the overall project well within budget.

          The Results

Rainwater moved into its new office space in 2023, and each of its new signage solutions captures the attention of all who enter!

Each project was designed to last for years with minimal care, and the map can be easily updated as future construction projects are added to the Rainwater portfolio. For Optima, finding creative solutions remains the best thing about working in the signage and graphics industry.

The president and CEO of Rainwater said, “The Optima team continues to do a fantastic job with our signage needs. They’re very knowledgeable, dependable and responsive while providing high quality work.”

4 Ways Dimensional Letters Can Complement Your Brand

March 7, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

Did you know that dated signage could hurt your business’s revenue? Potential customers are inundated with branding and advertising every single day, and they do judge a book by its cover — or in this case, a business by its sign. If you want to attract new customers and give your brand reputation a boost, your business needs signs and graphics that reflect your caliber as a company.

Thankfully, many signage solutions will help you stand out in a crowd. Dimensional signs are one of the most popular options on the market today and with good reason! Here are four ways dimensional letters and logos can help your brand step into the spotlight.

          Dimensional signs provide better visibility.

The ultimate purpose of every sign is for potential customers to see it! Naturally, our eyes are drawn to objects that are dimensional and layered, so dimensional signs provide a visual advantage over flat, one-dimensional signs. This is true for both exterior and interior signs!

          Dimensional signs offer increased durability.

Some people think quality signs cost a fortune — but that’s not always true! Dimensional signs can be made with a variety of materials to meet varying price points. Even more importantly, their fortitude can save you money in the long run.

Consider this: two business owners decide to purchase new signage for their storefronts. One client opts for the most economical option available. Due to weather damage and sun fading, a business owner needs to replace their outdoor sign every 2 years. The other business owner, however, opts for a dimensional sign with a longer lifespan. The initial investment is twice as much as the economic sign, but after 10 years, that first sign is still standing strong!

When you think about durability over the lifetime of your sign, you may come to decide that the initial investment is well worth the prolonged ability to last — and to look good year after year.

Dimensional signs give a professional look.

Dimensional signs do more than just catch your clients’ eye – their added visual appeal implies that you’re willing to go above and beyond to create something beautiful for your brand. Investing in a quality sign speaks volumes to potential customers about the quality of your business as a whole!

While dimensional signs can come at a higher initial cost than flat signage options, you often get the perks of better value over time due to their increased effectiveness and lasting durability! At Optima Signs & Graphics, we make an effort to accommodate every price point, helping our clients create incredible signs that work for their budgets.

Dimensional signs help you highlight brand elements effectively.

Do you have a custom logo that perfectly suits your business? Dimensional signs can let it shine! Some clients come into our shop imagining that dimensional signs simply mean raised lettering. We can certainly do that, but we don’t stop there! We love to create unique signage solutions that fit each client’s unique logo and brand. Just take a look at some of our recent work below to see what we mean!

          Dimensional Sign Projects at Optima

We’ve had the opportunity to create countless dimensional signs for our clients over the years. Our team loves to find unique and creative ways to highlight our clients’ brands. Here are just a few of our recent favorites!

          Lex Magna Law Firm

Lex Magna wanted to make a statement when clients walked into their Atlanta office. To give them an eye-catching entrance, we used metallic laminate on acrylic instead of solid metal.  The metallic laminate allowed us to create this sign at a more economical price point than solid metal allows. The result was a cost-effective dimensional sign that greets guests with an impressive, high-end look.

          Compass Retirement Solutions

Compass Retirement Solutions wanted to emphasize the compass in their logo, and they asked us to help them dream up the perfect signage solution. We were able to fabricate a unique dimensional star effect, painting it metallic gold to show off their logo. Combined with the dimensional lettering below, the entire sign gives off a polished and professional look that catches the eyes right away.

          MiMedx

MiMedx, a Marietta-based biomedical company, achieved a major milestone in the sales of their allograft products, and they wanted visitors to take note as they stepped inside the facility. We thought there would be no better way to do it than installing big numbers (think 21″ tall and 2″ thick!) in their lobby to announce their two millionth allograft to the world!

How to Properly Maintain Your Vinyl Signs

February 16, 2024 by greenmellen Leave a Comment

We’ve all been there: you put on a brand new shirt or jacket, only to drop salad dressing down the front of it during your first bite of dinner. Wear and tear happens, no matter what kind of product you use — but knowing how to care for things makes all the difference.

Have you ever considered that your signs need some occasional upkeep as well? Although you might think of signs as a “buy it, install it, and forget about it” kind of thing, you can preserve your sign’s quality and lengthen its life by maintaining it properly.

Now and then, we get asked how to best take care of vinyl signs. Our answer? It depends!

Vinyl is a versatile material in this industry, which means that vinyl signs come in a wide variety of options, and care instructions vary for each one. For example, a movable vinyl banner should be maintained differently than a piece of sheet vinyl applied to metal! But no matter which type of vinyl you’ve chosen for your signage, we can help you take care of it for the long haul.

          Temporary and Transportable Banners

Preserving the life of your vinyl banner is simple: transport it safely and clean it gently. If you’re taking your sign down and installing it again for events or presentations, roll it instead of folding it when not in use. A tube can help you transport it safely as well! To clean vinyl banners, use gentle soap and water. Harsh cleaning solvents can eat away at the vinyl and potentially remove any printed images.

          Exterior and Permanently Installed Signs

Whether you have cut vinyl on an aluminum sign or a post and panel installed with vinyl graphics, here’s the number one mistake we see: waiting too long to clean your vinyl sign! Months and years of dirt, dust, and debris can leave your sign unsalvageable. Instead, clean your exterior signage regularly. You can also use a pressure washer to spruce up permanent exterior vinyl signs, but only on the lowest setting!

How to Extend the Life of Any Vinyl Sign

Unfortunately, there’s no one answer to the question, “How long should my sign last?” However, choosing quality materials, selecting a good location, and caring for your sign properly can all extend its life.

If you’re in the market for a new, permanently installed vinyl sign, we’d be happy to walk you through your material selection. Two-dimensional vinyl signs are typically made from vinyl with an adhesive backing, and contour cut to your specifications.

We work with two types of vinyl in our shop: cast and calendered. Calendered vinyl begins as a solid, and it’s rolled out by machine until it is a few mils thick. Cast vinyl begins as a liquid, and it’s poured out into a mold until it reaches the desired thickness. Cast vinyl, also known as high-performance vinyl, is more expensive, but it provides a longer lifespan in most settings.

You’ll also need to consider whether you want to print a logo or text on your vinyl sign. Printing allows you to incorporate many colors and more complex designs. However, solid vinyl lasts much longer than printed ink on a vinyl background, especially when exposed to the elements outdoors. If printing is the best solution for you, we use UV-stable inks for our signs. They can last up to three years unlaminated and up to twice that long with quality lamination.

Get a Vinyl Sign that Lasts

No matter what your signage needs may be, Optima Signs & Graphics can help you create the perfect solution. In addition to vinyl banners and signs, we offer dimensional letters and logos, graphics for walls, windows, floors, and even decals and labels! We also love creating custom projects for our customers.

We’ve worked on signs of all shapes and sizes – here are a few of our favorites from last year – and we’d love to partner with you in 2024. Give us a call, stop by our Marietta, Georgia storefront, or start your project online today.
